Specific needs
Adolescence brings together health issues all of its own: disrupted sleep, body image, eating, intensive sport, screens, first questions about intimate health, school pressure, anxiety. Subjects a teenager won't raise in the same way in front of their parents, with a doctor in a hurry, or in a setting designed for them.
What happens during the consultation
An adolescent consultation always includes time for the young person to talk alone with the doctor, within a clearly defined framework of confidentiality. This is no small detail: it's what makes honest conversation possible. Parents of course remain involved, but the teenager is the patient, and is treated as such.
Mental health, without dramatising or minimising
Lasting tiredness, isolation, irritability, disengagement from school: these signals deserve a medical ear, without turning them into a catastrophe or brushing them aside with “it's just their age”. At Quai Santé, Dr Thomas Pernin combines adolescent medicine with stress management approaches such as mindfulness, with a direct link to our psychiatry and psychotherapy team if support would help.
Easy to get to, even without parents
At Montreux station, the centre is easy to reach by train from across the Vaud Riviera: a teenager can get there on their own, straight after school. Sometimes it's this practical detail that makes follow-up happen at all.
